Why it exists
Google Fonts has well over a thousand families, and most of them will never get near a brand identity. FontYard is the shortlist: fonts picked by a working brand designer, with notes on where each one fits and pairings that have been tried on real layouts.
Licences
Every font here is on Google Fonts under an open-source licence, usually the SIL Open Font License. You can use them free in personal and commercial work, logos included. Downloads always go to Google Fonts, so you get the official files and licence. If you plan to modify a font for a wordmark, read its licence first.
Your data
Fonts load from Google's servers, which receive your IP address with each request. Your preview text, brand colours and settings stay in your own browser.
